BREAKING: House GOP Subpoenas Pam Bondi in Escalating Epstein Showdown
House Republicans just voted to subpoena Attorney General Pam Bondi over the Justice Department’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee moved Wednesday to compel Bondi to sit for a closed-door deposition under the Epstein Transparency Act, setting up yet another political brawl over the government’s management of the Epstein files.
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) introduced the motion. Every Democrat on the committee backed the subpoena—joined by Republicans Lauren Boebert (Colo.), Michael Cloud (Texas), Scott Perry (Pa.) and Tim Burchett (Tenn.). That bipartisan alignment tells you this isn’t going away quietly.
Bondi has taken heat from Democrats—and more than a few Republicans—over how the Justice Department has handled materials tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his associates. Lawmakers clearly want answers under oath.
Washington has seen plenty of oversight theater. But when members of the president’s own party start demanding depositions from their own attorney general, that’s more than stagecraft—it’s a signal.
