Tulsi Gabbard Walks Away from Trump Cabinet After Husband’s Cancer Diagnosis
Gabbard informed President Trump during an Oval Office meeting Friday that her last day will be June 30. In her resignation letter, she said her husband Abraham “faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months” and that she “cannot in good conscience ask him to face this fight alone while I continue in this demanding and time-consuming position.”
The former congresswoman spent the last year and a half reshaping the intelligence community in ways that made both fans and enemies. Fox News noted she cut agency size, dismantled DEI programs, declassified hundreds of thousands of government records, and launched a “Weaponization Working Group” aimed at exposing alleged Biden-era abuses of federal power.
One line from her resignation letter stood out above the rest: “Abraham has been my rock throughout our eleven years of marriage.” That’s the kind of sentence you write when politics suddenly becomes very small compared to real life.

Editor: Washington treats every resignation like a chess move. Sometimes it’s just a spouse staring down cancer and realizing cable news can wait. I felt like this was inevitable, even before the diagnosis.

Turns out, things may not be what people think they are... "A source familiar with the matter said that Gabbard had been forced out by the White House." https://www.reuters.com/world/us/gabbard-resigns-trumps-national-intelligence-director-fox-news-digital-reports-2026-05-22/
