At 11:09 a.m., the shooter entered the cafeteria armed with a pistol, fatally shooting one student and injuring another before taking his own life. According to Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) spokesperson Don Aaron, law enforcement arrived swiftly, but the situation had already concluded. A third student sustained a minor grazing wound and is expected to recover. “My heart dropped,” said Tiffany Brooks, whose granddaughter was inside the school during the shooting, recalling the moment she received a terrifying call from her. Parents gathered at the reunification site, anxiously awaiting updates and struggling with the fear that their children could have been victims.
