Donald Trump just picked a fight with the Federal Reserve and Lisa Cook isn’t backing down.
Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook has filed a lawsuit against Trump in Washington, D.C., federal court to stop him from firing her. She argues the president doesn’t have the authority to boot her without a legitimate reason, and let’s be real—“you filled out a mortgage form wrong once” doesn’t exactly scream high crimes and misdemeanors.
Remember, this is coming from the guy who was recently convicted on 34 counts of FRAUD. And he incited an insurrection and—strangely enough—claimed he didn’t have the power to bring the DC National Guard into DC… which is exactly what he’s DOING RIGHT NOW! WheN WiLL ThE ShEEpLe gEt IT?!!!
Cook’s legal team says Trump “concocted” an excuse to dump her, in direct violation of the Federal Reserve Act. The law requires “cause” to remove a Fed governor, and according to her lawsuit, vague whispers about mortgage paperwork don’t cut it. Or as her filing bluntly put it, “The President’s concocted basis for removal…does not amount to ‘cause’ within the meaning of the FRA and is unsupported by caselaw.”
Trump, of course, isn’t blinking. (His disfigured face has turned his eye sockets into slits.) He told reporters he’s ready for a legal showdown: “We need people who are 100% above board, and it doesn’t seem like she was.” Sure, Piggy. Above board. Got it!
Meanwhile… Trump foes like Fed Governor Lisa Cook find themselves targeted by top housing regulator
Translation: Trump wants Cook out yesterday so he can stack the Fed with loyalists. The irony? No charges, civil or criminal, have been filed against her.
This fight goes beyond Cook—it’s about whether Trump can treat the Fed like his personal firing squad. Historically, Fed governors are insulated from this kind of political interference. Even the Supreme Court hinted in May that Fed officials have more protections than other agency heads. If Cook wins, it reins in Trump. If she loses, independence at the Fed is DEAD.
Bottom line: Trump is itching to install his own people and Cook is the firewall standing in the way. Get ready for a court battle that could decide just how independent the Fed really is.

Funny how Trump suddenly discovered his deep concern for “mortgage integrity” only after realizing Cook wasn’t going to play yes-(wo)man with interest rates. If paperwork errors are now grounds for firing, half his cabinet should’ve been gone before lunch.

Minneapolis School Shooting: Gunman Posted Sick Video Hours Before Killing Kids
A Minneapolis gunman laughed into his camera while showing off rifles and bullets—then used them to murder two children during morning Mass.
Police say 23-year-old Robin Westman opened fire at Annunciation Catholic School on Wednesday, killing an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old and injuring 17 others, most of them children. Dressed in black and armed with a rifle, shotgun, and pistol, Westman fired through stained glass windows before turning the gun on himself in the church parking lot.
Investigators are treating the attack as domestic terrorism and a hate crime after discovering an 11-minute YouTube video Westman uploaded just before the shooting. In it, he giggles while showing weapons covered with antisemitic phrases and references to mass killers like Ted Kaczynski, Robert Bowers, and Nashville shooter Natalie Rupnow. One rifle bore the words “kill Donald Trump.” Another was marked “kiss me.”
“Children are dead,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said bluntly. “There are families that have a deceased child. You cannot put into words the gravity, the tragedy, or the absolute pain of this situation.” Parents were seen clutching their sobbing children outside the church, with one boy overheard telling his father, “I don’t feel safe.”
Westman’s mother once worked at the school, and records show he legally changed his name from Robert to Robin in 2020. His final writings included violent sketches and a farewell letter telling loved ones: “I love you all. I will remember you.”
All of the guns were purchased legally. Because of course they were. It’s terribly easy to purchase firearms in the U.S.

California Supreme Court Rejects GOP’s Second Attempt to Block Redistricting Measure
For the second time in a week, California’s Supreme Court has told Republicans “no” on stopping a redistricting plan headed for the November ballot.
On Wednesday, the state’s high court swiftly denied a GOP petition to keep Proposition 50—the redistricting measure—off the ballot. The plaintiffs, four Republican lawmakers and four voters, had argued the measure was unconstitutional because it asked voters two separate questions instead of one. Their plea to halt the process was tossed out in less than 48 hours.
Translation: Republicans are too stupid to consider TWO QUESTIONS!
Republicans weren’t quiet about their frustration. “We are watching in real time the destruction of law-and-order, and of our republic at the hands of a democratic governor, democratic super-majority legislatures and Supreme Court,” they said in a statement. How’s it feel? Now imagine you’re a “lefty” in Texas or Florida. I guess California saying, “Fuck your feelings.” Turnabout is a BITCH.
They’ve vowed to keep fighting, calling Prop 50 a dangerous scheme.
Governor Gavin Newsom has already signed what he’s calling the “Election Rigging Response” package—three bills that authorize California to redraw its maps and put the question directly to voters this fall. If Prop 50 passes, California could add up to five new Democratic seats in Congress, effectively canceling out the five GOP seats Texas Republicans just manufactured through their own redistricting push.

Trump Demands RICO Charges Against George Soros and Son Without Evidence
Donald Trump wants George Soros and his son Alex slapped with racketeering charges—without offering a shred of proof.
On Wednesday, Trump took to social media to accuse the Soroses of bankrolling “violent protests” across the country and declared they should be prosecuted under RICO, the federal law designed to take down mob bosses. He didn’t bother to provide evidence. He never does.
The Soros family, long a favorite target of the GOP, immediately pushed back. “The Open Society Foundations do not support or fund violent protests,” spokesman Sean Savett said. “Our mission is to advance human rights, justice, and democratic principles at home and around the world.” In other words: Nice try, Don.
Meanwhile, the Justice Department isn’t touching Trump’s demand. That silence speaks volumes. Trump, however, has made a habit of turning the machinery of government on his enemies.
Just last week, the FBI raided John Bolton—his ex-national security adviser turned critic—and he’s publicly accused Letitia James and Adam Schiff of crimes, too. None of those accusations have stuck. YET.
Let’s not forget the irony: Trump is still facing racketeering charges of his own in Georgia for trying to overturn the 2020 election. Yet here he is, casually calling for his political opponents to face the very statute that could send him packing. Projection? That’s become his entire brand.

Several senior CDC leaders—including its chief medical officer and head of infectious disease—resigned in protest.
This latest purge leaves the CDC in turmoil, already reeling from budget cuts, staff reductions, and even a violent attack on its headquarters earlier this month. Public health advocates worry the agency is being hollowed out just when the country needs it most.
“When a career civil servant that leads an agency and this number of senior career officials resign on the same day, it raises serious questions about how the CDC can and will continue to do its work,” said Chrissie Juliano of the Big Cities Health Coalition.

That moment—etched into history—came during the March on Washington, a defining point in the civil rights movement. King’s words didn’t just inspire; they redefined the nation’s conscience. Sixty-two years later, the echoes still remind us how far we’ve come and how far we haven’t.
But history rarely moves in straight lines. Eight years earlier, on this same date, Emmett Till was abducted in Mississippi. The 14-year-old Chicago boy was brutally murdered after allegedly whistling at a white woman. His mutilated body became a horrifying symbol of America’s racial terror, galvanizing the civil rights movement.
August 28 also holds other grim markers. In 1957, Sen. Strom Thurmond launched his 24-hour filibuster to stall the Civil Rights Act—an act of political theater meant to hold back progress. In 1968, Chicago streets erupted as police clashed with anti-war protesters outside the Democratic National Convention.
