Trump Calls for Judge’s Impeachment Over Deportation Block, DOJ Challenges Jurisdiction
President Donald Trump has called for the impeachment of Chief Judge James Boasberg after the judge blocked his administration’s deportation of alleged members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang.
The move came as the Department of Justice (DOJ) sought to remove Boasberg from the case, arguing that his orders lack jurisdiction.
Trump took to Truth Social to attack the judge, calling him a "Radical Left Lunatic" and claiming, "This judge, like many of the Crooked Judges I am forced to appear before, should be IMPEACHED!!!"
Boasberg is overseeing a lawsuit from the American Civil Liberties Union and Democracy Forward, challenging the administration’s use of the wartime Alien Enemies Act to justify the deportations. The DOJ has pushed back, arguing that the president’s actions are beyond judicial review.

More than 80,000 documents related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy are set to be made public on Tuesday, marking the final release of classified material surrounding the historic event.

Social Security Ends Phone-Based Changes, Forcing Beneficiaries to Go Online or In-Person
The Social Security Administration (SSA) announced Tuesday that starting March 31, individuals will no longer be able to file for benefits or change their direct deposit information over the phone.
Instead, they must verify their identity online or visit a field office in person. The policy shift comes as the agency undergoes significant downsizing as part of broader federal government cuts. However, critics warn that the move will create major hurdles for elderly and disabled recipients, as well as families with children, who are unable to use SSA’s online services.
Because, that’s the point. It’s the whole point.
“This change will substantially delay their access to their earned benefits,” said Kathleen Romig, director of Social Security and disability policy at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
She highlighted that making an appointment now requires waiting over a month, and the average callback time for scheduling an appointment exceeds two hours. “These delays will only worsen as SSA cuts thousands of staff and millions more people need to make appointments,” she added.
The new policy has raised concerns about accessibility, particularly for those who struggle with digital services or mobility issues. While SSA argues the change is aimed at reducing fraud and improving security, advocacy groups fear it will disproportionately affect the most vulnerable beneficiaries. Super Bowl Reporter Murdered: Suspect’s Past Victim Warned She Could Kill
Telemundo sports reporter Adan Manzano was found dead in his New Orleans-area hotel room while covering Super Bowl LIX, and now the woman charged in his murder, Danette Colbert, is facing renewed scrutiny for her long history of alleged crimes.
Kenner Police, who described Colbert as a “career criminal” involved in fraud and drugging schemes, charged her with second-degree murder, believing she drugged Manzano to rob him.
A previous victim, David Butler, had warned authorities years ago that Colbert was dangerous, writing in a letter to a judge, “When Ms. Colbert reoffends—and statistics suggest she likely will—how will the court answer the inevitable question: Why was someone with such a history of endangering lives given yet another chance?”
Butler himself was allegedly drugged and robbed by Colbert in 2021, losing $134,000 after waking up disoriented and with no memory of how he got home. Despite being convicted in his case, Colbert avoided jail time through probation, a decision now under scrutiny by Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, who is pushing to have her sentence increased under the habitual offender statute.
“If Colbert had been sentenced appropriately in my case, Manzano—and possibly others—would likely still be alive. Justice delayed is justice denied,” Butler said in a statement after learning of her murder charge.
Colbert has a record of similar offenses, including arrests in Las Vegas for allegedly drugging and robbing men, though those charges were dropped when victims declined to testify. With evidence suggesting Colbert used substances like Xanax to incapacitate her victims, investigators are now piecing together whether Manzano’s death could have been prevented.
