Thoughts on Day Two of the Democratic National Convention
They brought the HEAT... Again!
Man, I thought Day One of the Democratic National Convention was off the charts.
(It was.)
Day Two continued the awesomeness.
In no particular order, other than what my brain thinks of first:
Michelle Obama was incredible. For somebody who doesn’t particularly like politics, she is damn good at it. Imagine if she loved politics like her husband does. She’d be POTUS for life. (Republicans, I kid. We Democrats still respect the US Constitution and ALL of its Amendments.)
Barack Obama’s speech was great, too. He brought the fire. And when he did the thing with his hands while talking about “crowd size,” OMG. That probably exploded a few heads.
The roll call was insane. Especially when you compare it to the drab, boring, low-energy Republican roll call, which was terrible.
Gavin Newsom sure likes to hear himself talk. I mean, he’s good, but that speech during California’s roll call was a bit… excessive.
The first Second Gentleman, Kamala’s husband, Doug Emhoff, gave the best non-political speech of the night, IMHO. I love back stories. Origin stories are the best.
I didn’t watch or listen to Bernie Sanders’ speech. He’s always bored me. I like him, but he doesn’t do much for me so I pass, probably at my loss. Let me know what I missed.
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz made an appearance at the Convention, even though they were in Milwaukee. They came on and Kamala spoke briefly right after the roll call was done and she had become, officially, the Democratic presidential nominee.
I like that the aforementioned Harris appearance was from the same venue that the RNC had their convention in recently. This time it was packed. Excellent troll!
A few Republicans spoke. I didn’t see any of them. I can’t stand these folks, who, all of a sudden, determined that they were idiots and finally saw the light but only after Trump did this one thing that was too far for them. Like, his whole history as POTUS was one big clusterfuck of shittery and they didn’t see this? Sure, buddy.
Last, and probably least, I’m looking forward to Day Three. Days One and Two have been outstanding. Let’s keep the mo’!
