Trump Implements 90-Day Tariff Pause for Non-Retaliating Countries, But Increases Duties on China
Stocks SURGE after the announcement. How many Trump admin officials bought stocks yesterday?
In a move to ease global trade tensions, President Donald Trump announced a 90-day suspension on tariffs for countries that have not retaliated against the U.S.
The decision was shared in a post on X, highlighting that over 75 countries have sought to negotiate trade-related issues, including tariffs and currency manipulation. Trump's pause will also include a reduced reciprocal tariff of 10% for the 90-day period.
However, the pause does not apply to China. In fact, Trump stated that tariffs on Chinese goods will rise to a staggering 125%, effective immediately, due to what he described as China's "lack of respect" for global markets.
"At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable," Trump wrote in his post.
This development marks a key moment in ongoing trade negotiations and may have significant ramifications for global markets. Stay tuned for further updates.

The damage is already done. Many small businesses have already shut their doors. The others still have to dance around the 10% left around the globe, that includes the penguins on that Heard Island. I mean 10% on their POOP! Man that makes some good-azz fertilizer...Right? Poor farmers. And who knows if all this changes again in 10 minutes or 24 hours, doubtful it will stay for 90 days. And China is dealt with 125%. They are a huge player in all of this. Just look around your house or any store you walk into. Made in China dominates. So are the global tariffs really 10%?
Imagine a world without the orange one, Putin and Xi. Imagine a world living in peace. John Lennon says it best IMO.
