Welcome to The Morning Sixpack Podcast, where we cut through the noise and bring you the stories everyone will be talking about. Today, the Supreme Court reshaped the legal landscape, Venezuela suffered a devastating natural disaster, inflation delivered more bad news, Washington found another reason to fight, Tucker Carlson took aim at Donald Trump, and a debate over how to help homeless veterans intensified.

The Supreme Court delivered four major rulings that will have lasting political and legal consequences. In one morning, the justices sided with conservatives on immigration, Second Amendment rights and federal regulatory authority, while protecting Monsanto from state lawsuits over Roundup labeling. The decisions are certain to fuel debate in Congress, on the campaign trail and in the courts for years to come.

Venezuela is racing against time after two massive earthquakes struck just 39 seconds apart. Buildings collapsed across the Caracas region, dozens are confirmed dead, hundreds are injured and officials fear the final death toll could rise dramatically as rescue crews continue digging through the rubble.

Inflation is proving far more stubborn than the Federal Reserve hoped. The Fed’s preferred inflation gauge climbed to its highest level since 2023, fueled largely by higher energy prices, while consumer spending and economic growth remained surprisingly strong. The report makes lower interest rates look even less likely in the near future.

President Trump abruptly derailed a bipartisan housing bill that appeared headed for his signature. Instead of signing what supporters called the biggest housing reform package in decades, Trump demanded Congress first pass stricter voting laws, leaving lawmakers from both parties scrambling and putting affordable housing on the back burner.

Tucker Carlson escalated his feud with President Trump in dramatic fashion. The former Fox News host blasted Trump’s handling of Iran during a podcast interview, arguing the president relied on bluster instead of strength before delivering a blunt line that’s now dominating political headlines: “Shut up, b*tch! I don’t take you seriously.”

The Trump administration is defending a controversial proposal involving homeless veterans. VA officials insist they are only trying to help veterans who cannot make their own medical decisions, but critics fear the administration is laying the groundwork for involuntary treatment. Outreach workers say their experience proves trust and persistence—not force—are what truly change lives.

That’s your Morning Sixpack. Thanks for listening and remember: Tomorrow will bring another round of headlines, another round of political fireworks, and probably a few more surprises from Washington. We’ll be here to sort through it all.
